MPG , S4 vs. E36 M3, surprising results.....

my freind followed me up to Sears point in his e36 M3, we flew up pretty fast. both topped off gas half way and then filled up again after about 225 miles. he put in 9.8 gallons in his M3 and I put in 10.9 gallons in my S4 to fill them both up. not that much of a difference considering a 340 hp AWD Avant vs a 250 hp i-6 coupe.

What about your M3, how does that compare in MPG?

i get about 19 around town - mid 20's on the highway.

what was interesting was this was same drivings, same roads, same speeds, same passing etc. the M3 has a 6th gear that the e36 does not have and that should help it.
