there are a lot of things that could cause a clicking sound while a motor is at idle. perhaps a little more info....
is it rhythmic?
how loud of a tick? (only audible with the radio off, and the hvac fan off too? can you hear it louder from inside the car or out?) how fast is the click?
can you hear it from under the hood at idle? if so, have you tried using a long screwdriver to localize it???
when did you first notice the noise? has it changed since then?
I haven't heard any unusual clicking from my S, so I can't help there. But, maybe with some more info I can point you in the right direction. To be honest, your best bet is trying another dealer (one who will listen to you).

and you think it's a problem with the lower end, my next move would be to take it to a local independent shop and have em put her in the air while at idle. this will give you a chance to get a good listen of the lower end. Use a long screwdriver and touch different metal parts of the pan (and whatever else you can reach) and put your ear up to the other end, this will allow you to isolate the origin of the sound. when you find it... you can take it back to the dealer with a better complaint for warranty.
good luck.
good luck.
