Genuine OE Audi program? Why didn't dealer install it then?
I'm guessing they didn't - otherwise this wouldn't have started.
Did you ask Audi if you could install this software? Or if you could purge out your mufflers (which could affect emissions configuration that was blessed during the EPA tests)?
Sorry, agree with S4for5 - you screw with your car yourself outside of the dealership, you pay the price.

Hey ub2slw!
I drive by that exit almost every day! Sorry to hear about your car. But I just read that aban811's car was totalled and you might want to ask him if you can buy his engine? Would be better than have Lasher Audi rebuild it.... Just a thought.

and the answer is no. bypassing emissions wouldn't cause the failure I could take the entire exhaust system off....it still wouldn't have caused the problem. They could have VERIFIED that it's a genuine audi program, but they didn't. The burden of proff is on them....the burden of the process is on me

none of those, with the exception of the NSX, would be considered
highly tuned engines. And the NSX is over a decade old. You should have mentioned the RX-7. There is no "thesis" here, just cold hard fact.

Disagree.
VAG still cannot rival the horsepower put out by a 3.2 litre engine. The type S engine is tuned to the max.
I'd say the cold hard facts are that any vtec engine is highly tuned and puts out a lot of hp given it's displacement.
