Need new summer shoes.

It's a heavier tire, similar to the Bridgestones, but the sidewalls are reinforced.
I posed the XL rating to Gary at Tirerack last year when I considered the Yokohama Neova AD07 (which are not XL rated) He said without an XL you need to be cognizant of correct tire pressures, plus, the XL rating kicks in when the car is fully loaded to its gross wt.limit. Otherwise, the XL plays no part in the equation.

Reducing unsprung weight is defintely a worthy goal - but we're talking about a 3800 pound car here
lol
4 pounds per tire on an Elise would mean something to me. 4 pounds per tire on my daily driver doesn't really get me excited.
Besides - my wheels are about 7 pounds lighter than OEM anyways...

The KDWs are ok. The KDW2s are supposed to be better. I'm not concerned
about wear when it comes to tires. I want the max performance you can get. The KDWs are a little soft.

How about the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric for $230 apiece? It seems to be winning comparisons. I just got a set from Tire Rack and they were installed yesterday. Too early to really tell, but they seemed fine on my morning commute.

Thanks for the input.
I ended up ordering the Falken 615s. They're about a pound lighter and $100 cheaper. I figure if they wear out quick, I didn't spend much money on them. I just want to see how sticky they are.
