Default Need new tires

I need some me tires for my 2006 S4. I would like to significatly increase the handling from my stock ContiSport2 tires, but I dont want to add heavy *** tires to my ride. I just bought some LW Volk rims, so I would like to stay with a lighter tire so i didnt just waste a lot of money for unsprung weight... haha

What do you all reccommend?

Default TireRack has all of the weight sepecifications for all sizes. Start there.

Its hard to say without knowing budget and type of tire you want. But if weight is you primary concern, go to TireRack, search the size you need, then click on SPECS for a tire in your search result list.

Good Luck.

X2 about Tirerack. Probably the best performance mod on the S4, lightweight rims and Tires.

Default Congrats on the Volks - I approve ;-) ....

I went through this process recently and agree that budget will determine what to consider. I ended up with Hankook K104's (235/325/19) due to a strong rec, they're only 21 lbs and inexpensive. I should mention that they're not really wide which I suppose is good for weight but not so for rim protection. I just started pushing the car the past few days and can say the tires have very good grip but turn-in could be better. I'll probably end up with H-sports which will likely assist in this area.

Default Replacing my Conti-2s tomorrow with...

Michelin PS2s. Can't wait. Hated the Contis, but did get 13,600 miles. Most I ever got with PS2s was 11,000 and have had 6 sets.
PS2s are superior in every category and both the Contis and PS2s weigh 22 #s each.
PS2s also cost approximately $60. per tire more. Well worth it in my opinion.
