Default New 05.5

I just cut a deal to get an 05.5 fully loaded (except for tiptronic, I got a 6 speed) (Moro blue/grey leather/carbon)for $8,000 off msrp. Is this a good deal? Also, what are the differences between the 05.5 and the 06 and will I really notice them?

Does anyone regret having the grey leather due to it getting dirty?

What are some items I should review with the dealer before taking the car? (i.e. alignment, free floor mats, etc.)

I appreciate your input and help,

Thanks

The big differences are no Blutetooth option, 40/60 differential split vice 60/40 in the 05.5, and BBS CH wheels with the premium package. I would recommend getting a clear bra, especially with a dark color like Moro blue. My last car was black and the front ended up looking like crap after a few years with all the chips and dings.

The bluetooth is a huge difference for me. In addition, I also like the BBS wheels a lot more since it stands out more (for me) than the 5 spoke wheels. Saying the number or scrolling through the phonebook is much easier (and safer!) than dialing by hand. It was worth the difference in price for me since I knew I was planning on keeping this car for a while.

Default For that price

it's a great deal, I think. The bluetooth retrofit has been already figured out - $800 in parts and a couple of hours will fix it, if you absolutely have to have it (I don't and I really love gadgets, but then again I don't use my phone).

I have the silver leather and love it. Just clean it a bit periodically and it will be all good. Had it in two other cars and had no real problems, although it's clearly higher maintenance than black.

Default Sweet price. As stanj said, perform a regular cleaning/conditioning on the silver leather..

and you shouldn't have any issues. It really makes the car brighter. I lug a 6 year old around all the time wiht my silver leather, no issues yet. It cleans easily.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I am taking advantage of this price. Anyone notice a difference with the 40/60 split?

Default Re: Where can i get the BT retrofit?

I have a 5.5 and I would love to have that option. Would it work exactly the same like those on an 06?

Default Some searching around here will yield you with this...

Yes, it's exactly the same as a 06 model. And no, it's not for someone with lack of patience or if you don't know at what end a soldering iron gets hot.

http://www.navplus.us/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1362</a
