No oil no warning light wtf?....
I woke up this morning thinking how strange it was that my min oil light hasn't popped on and it's been almost 2 months since i've had to add oil. I usually have to add a quart every 2k miles, and i know i've drove way over that. I went outside to check, let the car warm up and found the needle bone dry. Has anyone else had this happen to them? No min oil light and no oil? I had to put in 2 1/2 qts to get it back up to level, I was pissed.
Any help would be appreciated
TIA, Joe

Apparently your oil level sensor is defective
And your piston rings never seated completely, unless you are leaking oil. BTW how many miles do you put on the car in 2 months? If it were my car and it was burning oil, I would be tempted to put some RESTORE oil treatment in the crankcase. But its not my car.

http://www.restoreusa.com/</a

Possibly not Doc. Warning light typically hits at 2 quarts low.
The xtra half quart he added could be the difference between low normal and high normal on the stick.
To close to call a defective oil sensor I would say.

Doc I've read ur post regarding oil consumption
and the letter that aoa mailed to u in response and my car falls within those guidelines. However i still agree with u that this isnt normal oil consumption even for a high perf engine. I purchased my car cpo so i do not know what breakin procedure (if any) the original owner used so it is possible that the rings were not sealed completely. I just dont understand why the sensor for low oil would not work all of a sudden.

Restore???`
Restore is designed to stop smoking so that a beater can be sold. It is a short term, but not a long term fix.
One possibility for oil consumption is that the rings are loaded with deposits. In that case a treatment of AutoRX could help to clean the rings and restore the seal.

I've been using Restore and even though it didn't stop the car for burning oil..
It makes it feel almost like brand new... I mean, the power is there, but it just feels so smooth.
I'll try the AutoRx as I drive 100 mi/day and usually put 1 quart of oil every week.
BTW: kudos to DrGP, I started to use Restore after a previous post and indeed is worth th e try to the product.
