Default It is official; I am another allroad to S4 convert.

Just took delivery of my 06 S4. Sprint blue, 6 speed, Audi BBS CH wheels...the works.

In the end, the allroad was to big and I was nervous about the long term reliability, and all the electrical gremlins nobody could diagnos. In retrospect, even though it was a 6 speed, the tranny was to sloppy, the throws to long and the overall road connection was lost in translation.

I am now happy, and can't wait to get behind the wheel again.

Default Congrats, you'll love it.

My brother has an allroad, and I think deep down he secretly wishes he opted for the S4 Avant. Oh well his loss. The allroad is a pretty solid car though.

Default Congrats! Even with some mods on the allroad...

...I wasn't totally happy. Yes, it's a great all around vehicle and the reason I bought it. But I always had a nagging worry about the turbos, and the car could never feel just right w/ that air suspension.

If the allroad had a 4.2 w/ 6 speed manual, coil spring over damper suspension, and some Recaros I'd probably still have it - but for me I would rather have a stock S4 than a modded allroad.

There is a very good group of drivers on the allroad board - I still peak in to read the threads.

Default I love sprint blue! It's boy racer yet refined.

If that makes any sense, but what did you go for sedan or avant? And get some pictures up, I'd like to see some!

Default exactly why I got it....in fact at the dealer, there were several "older" ladies admiring the color

as I was signing the final papers....go figure.

In regards to the body style, believe it or not, the wife actually talked me into the sedan! I wanted the avant, and she said "tell you what; get the sedan, and when it is time to replace my Jetta, you can have your wagon". Now, me thinks this is just wife talk for "get the Cayenne", but time will tell. The payments on the S4 (I did finance it) hopefully will be payed off by then.

Thanks for having me, pics will come when the rain stops (yes, I did buy a car in the rain, and during the evening) and I live in CA.

Default ditto. It fealt like it was always floating or bouncing off the stops

when I pushed it. It is agreat car, and admittingly, I had a tough time letting her go, bu tI think the reason for that was the people on the allroad (AR) forum. They are indeed great people, and I may still spend time over there trying to convert them to S4's.

The S4 is a car that I get giddy just thinking about it. I honestly can't remember a car that made me feel that way...well, with the exception of my 1963 microbus (check my pic poster).

Default I went allroad for the space, and the fact that it is the only A6 with a 2.7t and a six speed

(and avant)but after three years, I never used it for what it was designed for. granted, I took it to the snow and offroad, but I only got in trouble trying to push the allroad's capabilities. I never had to "need having the allroad" if that makes any sense.

All in all, I drove the allroad for three years and I can say the S4 is waaaaaaaaaay more entertaining, fun, nimble, powerful than the AR ever was.

Default Congrats!! Three weeks in and we're still giddy about ours.

According to those on this board, that feeling may never go away.

Love the Sprint Blue.
