Oil/Warranty/Service question. Apparently dealer is putting Castrol GTX in for oil changes

So WTF are the AUDI service intervals scheduled so far appart?
There is nothing in the manual (to my knowledge) that states you should be doing non-scheduled services between the Audi recommended service intervals.

Dealer is REQUIRED by Audi to put synthetic oil in all 05 and later S4s
for scheduled oil changes.I would report dealer to AOA immediately and demand that the put in synthetic as long as you don't have an 04. OTHERWISE, I would talk to service department and have them put in synthetic even if you have to pay extra for it.

I have an 04. So for some reason the 04s are **** and dont deserve synthetic.
wonder why they switched? hmmmm maybe becasue conventional oil has no place in fine german engineering.
