What do you guys (and gals) think?

I love convertibles but a 6sp Boxster S with decent options will be something like $60k

Default Same general $$ as the S4 Cab

and room for only one passenger. Looks wise it seems very very similar to the current model.

Default I love the Boxster but not worth the $$$

Porsche has always been notorious for nickel and diming you for options, like:

-$400-something for footwell lighting
-$125 for colored Porsche center caps
-leather/wood/CF trim options
-$100 for 2 floormats
-$300-something for exhaust tips
-$600-something for auto-dimming mirrors
-$3000 for an automatic

The list goes on...

Default As the owner of an '03 Boxster S

I think it looks nice but doesn't make me want to sell my '03.

As soon as I can sell my 911 (http://www.bluecarrera.com for anyone looking for a track car) I'm going to be putting a 911 motor in my Boxster and that should rock.

My main complaints about the current Boxster are 1) stereo sucks - fixed with a new setup
2) not enough power, although it does get significantly faster after ~5000 miles - fix that with a 330 HP 996 motor <VBG>
3) a bit cramped - I'm 6'2" - and I don't see anything to indicate this has changed.

Bottom line, of you want a fun roadster toy then the Boxster is still a great car, but it's not nearly as versatile as a daily driver as the S4.

Would a 3.6L 996 motor really fit in the boxster engine bay?

Default I thinking (hoping) my next ride

will be a 997 C4S if they bump the HP up or if not and if I see some options migrate north of their strike price....a 997 turbo. I'm also hoping to add a Land Rover D90 (talk about over priced for what they are) to the mix but I'll have to be a very, very good boy for Santa to bring that.

Default Love it and want one - at heart I'm a sports car guy and Porschephile, but I'll never buy new

Their new car prices are too high. I'll wait a year and a half.

I like the new interior alot though, finally an upgrade.

Sounds like a sweet sleeper setup? Any cooling probs running a 3.6L TT in the boxster?
