Picky question: glove compartment lid

My manual (under Storage, pp. 120-124) says something to the effect that in the glove compartment lid there's a place to store a pen and a pad of paper. I can't find any such thing. I've STFA and don't see anything on this. Anyone know if there ever was such a thing? Or am I just unable to find a well-hidden storage spot?

Must be pretty well hidden - I see nothing to indicate any compartment in the actual lid.

That is an option in Europe (along with the fridge in the glovebox).
