Best Lasar Jammer
Before you make your decision check out radarbusters.com. Ask for Rick, he's an ex cop and sells several brands. He believes the Blinder M-20 is the best on the market. The ZR3 in his opinion does not detect all forms of LIDAR.

http://www.radarbusters.com/products/jammers/default.asp</a

Suggested pricing
I just spoke with a rep from Escort and the installation depends on the vehicle make. I know my Audi was the first one they installed and hence charged way more than the average Honda installation due to the complexity.
The prices on the Escort web site only reflect suggested prices. Dealers can alter their prices at will. I did bargin a bunch to get the price down.
From memory, I bought the SR7 for around $600 and then the ZR3 for $400. The rest was paying for installation.

Yes, I'll do it myself.
Haven't decided on the placement of the transponder(s) yet. I have yet to see finished unit, and although I know its dimensions (16mm tall X 40mm wide X 50 mm deep, that's about 0.63" X 1.575" X 1.97"), it's pretty hard for me to figure out the placement without having something in my hands to play with. Also, Lidatek says that, unlike the older LE-20, a single LE-30 transponder will cover a typical compact car front end, yet they still will offer dual transponders - and I will probably go with dual setup for the extra protection, and the placement decision will obviously depend on whether I end up getting single or dual unit.
Georgia doesn't require front license plate, so police is trained to aim for headlights here. So far I've considered placing the transponders behind upper grille, lower grille, and inside for light grilles. Fog light placement will yield an unobstructed field of view, but is more prone to damage from road debris, and is less stealthy than behind upper/lower grilles. If I had to go with the grilles, I'd probably mount behind the lower one like sr8ted has - I won't have to deal with the hood opening/closing, and the transponders would be out of harm's way during car service.
The control unit will go somewhere under the dash near the fusebox, and the led will go into one of the blank buttons next to the cupholder (I have power shade, so I have 2 blank buttons instead of cardholder there).

Does the trim piece behind the steering wheel come off like on the B5's? - - >
I'm going to making the V1 display like those made for the B5's, integrating it into that trim piece so it is totally stealth. Curious if the trim is removable ala B5's...
