Please Help - NE 1 ever had an issue with vechicle skid control?
Mods please don't kill this post...I'm looking for a little help from my S4 bretheren. Perhaps a bit off topic as the problem is not on my S4 but on my Land Cruiser. At highway speed...say 75 mph.....the vechilce skid control comes on, starts breaking the car, light flashing and beeping, cars sways about and I have to reel her back in by slowing down and pulling into the slow lane. Skid control light beeps for another 15 seconds and then finally stops and then the cruise control won't work. I'm at a total loss on this issue. Toyota dealerships have been no help and can't find a problem. They can't replicate the problem because it only happens once in a while...usually after driving at highway speeds for over an hour. This is my wife's car and obviously a HUGE concern to me as not only is it endangering her life but also the lives of my two kids and dog. When it happened the first time I thought perhaps it was her fault and that she was hydro planning (this of course did wonders for my marriage). But since then, it has happend 4 more times, twice to me and its very nerve wracking to say the least. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this. I'm going to try Toyota service again tomorrow (for the 5th time). If they can't find anything wrong I'm going to have to dump the car....which totally sucks because I was planning on keeping it for many more years.
TIA

Maybe it is a built in maximum speed monitoring system to slow you down. Seriously Toyota ...
Should take your car out on the highway for what ever time it takes to duplicate the problem and fix it. If they give you the run around, maybe you should think to duplicate it yourself but bring a cam corder with you and document it. Obviously there is an intermitent electronic problem with your car and these can be very hard to duplicate and repair. Good luck.

Almost sounds as if one of the sensors is going haywire
The ECU thinks that the car either has wheel slip or is sliding sideways. That would suggest one of the accelerometers, yaw sensors or steering sensors is sendinng erroneous data to the ECU.
