Price negotiation on '07 S4 pre-order?

I'm thinking about ordering an '07 S4, and am wondering if dealers are usually willing to negotiate a price (based on percentage over invoice, I guess, since pricing hasn't been announced) -- or just whatever the MSRP ends up being is what you pay. I'm guessing the latter, but figured I'd ask. I'd get an '06, but I'm about 1-2 months off from being ready to buy, and more importantly, I can't quite find what I'm looking for ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Also, anyone know about the new color/interior options on the '07 S4 Cabs?

I ordered my 2006 just as they stopped taking orders for the 2005.5 and got it for $1500 over invoice. I think a lot of it depends on which dealer you go to. Seems like some people got decent deals and some people paid MSRP all around the same time.

The DEALER is surely a factor; the dealer must get a fair price to stay in business. But "Fair" is what ?
Some PEOPLE/BUYERS are better at negotiation or just walking out; other PEOPLE/BUYERS seem willing to pay MSRP or close. ANY dealer/salesperson would prefer the latter.

I ended up buying mine from a dealer in NJ because production was being delayed for the 25th Anniversary Quattro edition. He agreed to sell it to me for the same price that my local dealer had agreed on but was not happy about it and kept telling me what a good deal I was getting. BTW there was almost no haggling with my local dealer.

Yeah, I think dealers will negotiate, if you're inclined. I paid $800 over invoice two months ago on a 2006 S4 Avant (over the phone in 5 minutes); I would not expect that good on a 2007.
But, since you're "not quite ready to buy for 1-2 months and can't find exactly what you want in available 2006" you are perfect candidate to buy a 2007 - and ORDER WHAT YOU WANT.
my 2 cents: Find a dealer that will give you at least $2000 off MSRP - it sounds like you'd be OK with that, put down a small deposit, and wait for WHAT YOU WANT.
Good luck.

My experience was just the opposite (local vs out of state), but that's irrelevant. You can have two dealers 10 miles apart with different "attitudes."
My local dealer was banking on the "home court advantage"; dealer 500 miles away was a better deal by $2500, which took 5 minutes on the phone, and a $107 plane ticket (one way), and a great drive home.
