Default Question about Hyperflow...

I have noticed something weird!? Everyone tells me to install the factory Induction Runner for better airflow, but when I do, I can feel decrease in performance. I also noticed that the Factory Induction Runner gets Real Hot, and I am assuming that what happens is that it heats the air in the "cold air area" where the Hyperflow Filter sits. So, what I did was take off the factory Induction Runner altogether, and WOW, what a difference. Not sure why this is, because the heat shield has an opening to the engine bay, and I would think that it would pull heat from the engine bay area??

Anyone have the same issue, or is it just me!?
Any suggestions/comments...TIA

I am going to take it off right now, and see how it feels. Will follow up later tonight or tomorrow. )

Default I don't see it having much or anything to do with performance.

If anything, it's directing cool air coming from the front of the car into that 1/4 of the engine bay. Removing it is not really going to give you a boost in power, and I seriously doubt that your going to feel the difference.

Default If you have a VAG

You can measure MAF Temp in real time and compare your results.
I doubt it changes much

OMG. Just got out of the car from a 40 mile drive from OC to the LBC and there was a HUGE difference. Now I actually feel my intake and feel that the strat system was worth the $$. The throttle response is amazing now. You can actually hear the engine sucking in the air with a tap of the gas. There is a major improvement without the stock induction unit, even with the hot air coming from the slot where the stock unit should be placed. Hands down, better performer now, thanks for the advice silver!.. not going to change my set up anymore. And that accidently going into 7th gear thing. I finally made that mistake. )

Oh, and now that I have 1500 miles on my baby, I've decided it's ripe enough to race. Rev testing my newly configured Hyperflow system, a raced out Evo VIII tailgated me, then cut me off. As we entered the freeway onramp, I straight toasted his azz. Without knowing it, I was smoothly sailing at 120mph on the 55 in 4th gear. He finally caught up to me, but I hopped on the 22 to Long Beach. Left him in my tracks. Poor guy, he was so into it, he had his blinker light on the whole time.

Default I agree.

Think about it. What is being accomplished by taking it off?

Where's mm to tell you that your butt dyno won't be able to distinguish having the runner off or on?

I remember an old reg did use the vag and there was more air flow with the runner on.
