Question of the day: What is the reason someB5 S4 guys like coming here and bashing us and our cars?

my intake cone is in a comparable position and with the heat shield in position the area around the
filter is considerably colder and the filter is cold to the touch. this is after hard runs, heat shields work better than most assume.

Here's the answer
I'm the original, and still, owner of a 2000 B5 S4. When I first got the car, close to 5 years ago, I jumped on Audiworld and the S4 forum was a place for mature and enthusiastic owners to gather and discuss their cars. Much like how you describe the B6 forum today.
Nowadays I find myself rarely reading the B5 forum, and posting even less. Why?
My theory is that as the B5 has aged and depreciated, used ones are now financially accessible to a larger group of young and immature owners while many of the original owners have moved on.
It's quite unfortunate actually. Engaging discussion has all but disappeared from that forum. It's a cycle, and it will surely happen to this forum as well at some point. Oh well.

Wow! Your car is faster than mine. Impressive. I'm scared... Actually...
You know, seeing that makes me want to sell my super slow B6 and buy a B5 A4. That way, I can be like you. Cool and knowledgeable. But the most important thing...(drum roll please)......is that I will have a car that, when modified, is faster than any B6 S4. Because that's all that matters.

What's the whole point of this place if in your shiny happy world, all topics are blindly accepted as facts? I bet you believe that chip/exhaust/downpipes will get you 400 hp too. LOL.

well S4's do run hotter than A4's as there is a great deal more friction in the engine and what not.
though the Stg3 S4's that i have seen with the AWE intake on them have managed to stay pretty cold in that department. and i have seen some of the most powerful ones around. which intake are you using? wow this is way OT from the pissing contest going on around this.

i find these comments interesting as i was under the impression that all of this started from a
fellow B6 owner stating that he could (or did) beat a Z06 corvette (implying that speed was actually a very important part of the equation) yet here you come with this completely abstract statement that doesnt seem to have anything to do really with the previous statements. His statement was relavent. all this talk about speed and he shows that he has some power and is patronized for it?
