I'm happy with my Sears compressor. Not sure what you're looking for, but
I have this Sears Professional 3.5HP 25Gal upright compressor. I use it with airtools and to blow out my sprinkler system in the yard at the end of the season. I've been very happy with it so far.<ul><li><a href="http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&am p;pid=00916778000&subcat=Portable+Tank+Compres sors">http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&am p;pid=009167780

pepboys is the only way to go!
I got a brad nailer and an air compressor for 99 bucks. Plus for 79 bucks I got all the air tools I could ever use.
And for 25 bucks I got a 2.5 ton jack, 2 stands, and a roller.
All for under 250 out the door. This can't be beat.

Just bought a Dewalt Emglo, not inexpensive but very well built
use it for work as well, roofing/framing/finish carpentry.
Don't just buy one because of cost, must look at power and tank size as a small tank will mean the compressor will have to work more causing more wear even when inflting tires. Hook up a impact tool, air chipper or grinder and the compressor will never stop running even with a 5hp and 20 gal tank. Those tools use a large amount of air. Most air tools/compressors are only 1/4 as efficient as a comparable electric tool.

Agree; just make sure it's AC powered
Have used a small Sears AC powered compressor for years for my tire filling jobs. Works great; decent punch and no problems.
Have tried several DC powered units; all wre weak and tended to die relatively early deaths.

I got a 3.5hp 25gal
Mine shuts off when tank reaches 175psi. I just changed my wheels. I shut it off when it hit 120psi. I was able to impact off all 4 wheels, impact on new wheels (lower power then torqued), and then inflated all four tires from ~20psi up tp 35psi. When I was done my tank was only down to 90psi.
I do agree that you need a lot more storage to operate air grinders, sand blasters, and stuff that you are constantly running. I have problem with my auto air tool and have used my framing nailer with it quite a bit.
BTW: Nice compressor you got. I considered getting a bigger one with 220v, but decided not to.
