I was originally looking at leasing a leftover 07, but got terrible rates... I saw a nice S4 Avant last night with a 6-speed and CPO from the dealer.

Thoughts on reliability? potential issues to look out for? Anything I should know about regarding premature clutch wear? How long have you guys been getting from your clutches?

I just bought one with 22K miles. I would just try and find out where it was serviced and then pull the records yourself.

Mine had the window regulator replaced and that was about it outside of regular service....

26K miles is pretty low. Maybe a lease return or something....

I asked for service records, dealer said if it was serviced there yes, if not no, is this true?.

Not true any Audi dealer should be able to pull service records from any other audi dealer in the US

I was able to get a service history on an S4 and I was just "shopping" it

I would think that they could check nationwide. If they won't do it, I bet audi of america can check for you and tell you where to call.....

It's not a medical history, for pete's sake! I'm pretty sure all warranty work is reported to AoA, otherwise the dealer doesn't get paid. Don't know if routine maintenance is reported, now that it's done as part of AudiCare.

But an 05.5 should have the free maintenance included, so that should also be reported. I'm pretty sure there's a way of getting the car's service hitory. Sounds like someone's either trying to pull a fast one or get out of doing some work.

Be wary of unreported body work, though. Carfax doesn't always catch that.
