Here's the steps.
1. put spare key in ignition, turn ignition on.
2. shut all doors
3. lock drivers door with key/remote you want to recode, remove key.
(here's the tricky part - you have 4 electronic "slots" for keys in your control module, ie. you could have 4 different remotes (max) coded to work with the car.
4. Press the unlock button on the remote the number of times that corresponds to the "slot" number within 5 seconds of locking the door. I.e., if you are coding the third remote, press unlock 3x. The horn will sound/lights flash each time you press the unlock button. (note, if a "slot" is currently filled, you can't reprogram it, you need to use VAG-Com to clear out all the "slots")
5. wait 5 seconds. Press unlock again. the car should unlock.
6. pull the spare key out of the ignition and verify remote operation (lock/unlock)
If the above doesn't work, try doing it over, but in step 4, press unlock a different number of times.
Follow the same procedure with the second remote, but you'll need to program it into a different slot than the first one.

Check the link below if both keys are having issues definately bring it to the dealer. I know both of mine got replaced because they were faulty. Dealer should hook you up. My keys were working sometimes and then not working other times. It was annoying. If they give you any trouble print the tsb and slide it over when you go there, that will help them out and you should be all set.<ul><li><a href="http://www.dejong947.com/audi/tsb/audi.tb.57-05-02.pdf">Right Click save as, Thank you JD for hosting the tsb</a></li></ul>
