Default Removing the glove box at the weekend. Any clever ideas

The Bentley says I need a tool (marked 3370 in the picture) to pull the side panel off - the one that is covered when the door is closed. My track record with Audi clips so far has been that I break the damn thing and then see how I should have taken it off in the first place. I don't have the little Audi tool so any tips would be appreciated.

Default milk crate + some phone books so it can rest on it while you disconnect the light wiring

and rest the weight of the compartment dangling while you get at the other hex nuts

Default After you remove all the screws, the glove box just comes off. Disconnect the footwell

lighting and you'll be able to remove the entire thing and place it somewhere outside the car. I just used my foot to hold the bottom as you removed the screws. It's not very heavy to hold with your feet/shoes. Go from top to bottom with the screws.

That side panel, if you look at the bottom corner, you'll see that you can stick a flathead and pop it off. There is already a slit there.

Regarding the piece above the hazard, cupholder and ESP button, take a small flathead and place a towel or MF towel over the tip and gently pry that piece off, no damage.

Default Tool 3370

when I removed the glove box, there were a bunch of small MM bolts (I want to say 10mm?)

i did not remove the trim piece above the stereo. there's like 9 screws in the glove box. look around, you will see. it is very simple.

Default Yes, 10mm. 10 screws total...

Three right below the trim, two on the ceiling of the glovebox, two in the back of the glovebox (upper tray), two under the glovebox by footwell area and one behind the side panel.
