Default Ok, saw answer to question 1 on your web site. But the second question remains...

does the pump-gas performance program address any of the dbw issues?

Default So Todd...here is the scenario we all want to be true.

I can visit your shop in PA and have the prime/base program flashed to my ECU. At this time, we can also load a custom program (pump gas performance, etc).

Now I can also buy the portable NO-PC needed handheld flashloader as well. I can have the pump gas program and the STOCK ECU program on the handheld.

I can keep the handheld in the car, and AT ANY POINT, as long as I have electrical power, I can flash between the Stock and Gas Perf program to my hearts content (or just on days when something is not right or dealer needs to see car).

If that is indeed true...MAN I AM ALL OVER THIS.

Let me know and others here who would LOVE to have this insurance policy in our trunks all the time.

Default well to answer your questions....

there is no real flashing going on with the handheld unit. Its Simply a way of changing what program is active. All the programs you want are loaded onto your ECU when you purchase them and the switcher allows you to change between these programs.

Default Jd thanks...that is GREAT news

To have a flasher, and go back and forth (on a whim) between programs is wonderful. If I can do it when travelling (just incase warranty calls) and can change my program at that point...great.

Then to have it inconspicuous to the dealer is just the icing on the cake.

Default Couple more questions...

Does the "stock" program come from my ECU, or is it some "canned" program that GIAC had pulled out of a test mule car?

If a dealer were to re-flash my ECU with an updated firmware, can the "stock" GIAC program be updated with this new firmware?

Default Yes, that is how it works.

The Handheld unit works off the vehicle's power line in the OBDII port, so you can do the switching anytime, anywhere.

Pump gas performance chip program: $595
Stock file: $50
Handheld switcher unit: $150
Installation labor: $37.50

Total with 6% tax at our location: $882.45
