Saw an ad on this 'GMP Racing' site, saying they sell the entire conversion--of course with no dollar amount showing, which is a euphemism for "you probably don't want to know how it costs."
Anyone actually done this? It would be kinda' cool if you had the spare bucks lying around, I guess---and I don't think they actually made an RS4 Avant, so from that standpoint it would be unique, though sort of a 'poser'. But it would look pretty trick.
But they prob want like 5K for everything, i'm guessing, at which point it is not really costworthy. Can think of lots of other things for my Avant that I'd rather spend the 5 G's on...
hmmmmm...

That TDI conversion is amazing! I don't think it'd be as cool if it were anything but the diesel. The color choice is perfect. I can't get over the before/after shots. Kudos to that guy!

hell---stil waiting to see ANYBODY's SC kit. At least PES has the initial write-up and graphics on their site. I have had a PES G2 before on my B5 Avant, worked fabulously well, no complaints. Am leaning heavily in that direction, no disrespect to AWE whatsoever.

that has a running, ready for retail kit. People here on the forum have driven it for extended periods of time, it's been driven on their beta car for almost 1.5 years, they've installed several kits on more long term beta testers and there have been vids of cars with the kit running on a track and smoking an RS4. The kit is real. It's been dynoed relentlessly. They just want to be as responsible as possible and let the long term betas prove reliability.
Autospeed Performance has a car running with a centrifugal supercharger but there are few details about it right now.
The PES kit, on the other hand, is just what you mentioned, a drawing. It's been mocked up for fit but a final unit hasn't been cast and installed and run on a car. Listen, I have no doubt that PES is going to get this kit running and it'll be very nice when they're done, but it's nowhere near where the VF unit is as far as development is concerned. They say that we should see testing in Feb and installs in March and it'll undercut the VF kit by about $1000. In the interest of the community, I wish them all the best in bringing this thing to market. Some friendly competition will do all of us good.

You have posted this quite a few times now and you keep saying that PES is ahead of the game with a CAD makeup while both Autospeed and VF have working kits. VF's is almost ready for sale.

there is absolutely no indication whatsoever on either VF's, AWE's or Autospeed's website that an SC system is even in any stage of development whatsoever. Least not as of last night.
I'm not saying that this means it's BS, no---but if their systems are already 'out' and in beta, why would you NOT want the word being spread officially---like on your website---to help generate interest and hype for your product, as opposed to relying upon sheer word of mouth, which 99% of the time lends itself to speculation, rumor, and conjecture, 99% of the time which ends up fueling BS information about what the system really costs/is projected to cost, or can do vs what it is/was projected to do?
Why would you do that? From a marketing standpoint (and I know--I ran a small VW/Audi performance business for 8 years) it makes zero sense. I suppose there may 'some' form of logic to it, but I cannot discern what that would be.
When we came out with the first test run of our new ceramic-impregnated silver-oxide coating for our brake rotors, which was unique at the time (and is still uncommon today), we pre-advertised the sh*t out of it--and it definitely helped sales. We must have sold another 70 sets of rotors in the following year, and having pre-advertised the new coating was instrumental in that. So there most certainly is sense in pre-advertising a product you are about to bring to market.
PES is already doing this; the other guys, for whatever reason, are not. That does not automatically mean that the PES system is necessarily any better than the others, no, but it makes big sense from a marketing standpoint all day long.
