Default Rusty Calipers on the 04 S4
Is anyone else experiencing an embarrasing amount of rust on their calipers and hubs? The hubs I can understand as its bare metal but my S4 has 8000 miles, garage kept, and all 4 calipers are completely covered in rust. My 98 A6 with 115k miles has zero rust, so I'm curious if I got stuck with calipers that weren't sealed or if Audi just cheaped out on the brakes.

Audi is refusing responsiblity and so is the dealership.

Default None on mine.... Im suprised audi isnt doing anything about it.....
it could ruin the stopping power of them.

Hmmm...I always assumed the calipers were aluminum...guess not?

Default B5 S4 and D2 S8 rear calipers are identical and aluminum, ...
I can't imagine that the cost savings would be enough to justify Audi switching to steel.

I have that same issue. Thought it was nothing really. Just got the car Saturday. 280 miles on it as of right now.

I haven't noticed my calipers rusting. . but the hub is definitely rusting

Default The little clip in the middle of my LF caliper is rusted and I complained to the svc. mgr...
they said it is not a coated or sealed item and they wouldn't replace it free. Right side has not a spec of rust. One of those things that pisses you off but you choose not to waste time fighting. However, if your entire caliper is rusted that's a different thing - fight on!

Default No rust here. Rust on the hubs though is normal.
