Neither car is supposed to be a "bargain". the S4 in GB is about $70k (~42k pounds).

The M3 and S4 are both in their own, very unique cars. One is more apt at certain things than the other. People who are in the market for a luxury sport coupe/sedan such as the M3/S4 are simply going to have to weigh down what they favor more. It shouldn't matter if the price difference is $500 or $5,000 because then you'll start to question whether you are getting more or less car for your buck when the two cars have two different stances and attitudes. They are both very high quality cars, and both very fast. Maybe one looks better, and maybe the other. It's very subjective. I think the S4 is more of the "best of both worlds" where you receive the same kind of speed but the comfort and quality that you pay for (and probably sacrifice by the additive weight of the S4). Now, I'm not saying that the M3 doesn't have quality, which I know and am sure it does, but when you weigh the differences ... can you really say one is better than the other and therefore worth more or less?

The cCanadian M3 is more expensive, take your pick. Given the 1.5 exchange rate, the S4 is about the same in both (+- a few hundred)

How many people are going to buy an M3 with no options? If you're not going to buy it that way, why complain that the S4 base price is only $1,000 less than the M3?

Once you begin adding options and equip each vehicle similarly, the S4 is the bargain.
