I went to Santa Monic Audi over the weekend to check out the A3 with the wife and saw an Artic White S4 Avant with stick shift, premium, carbonfibre trim, 3 spoke steering wheel, and NAV+... the exact car I wanted but couldn't get because there were no Avant with manual any where in the western US 2 months ago. I didn't want to wait so I ended up buying a sedan. Just thought I pass the word alone for anyone looking for an Avant without the pansy tiptronic...

Edit: they also have #29 of the Anniversary S4, which they were allowing people to test drive! It was on the lot (not in the showroom) and while I was there, 2 different people took it out for a spin.

.. unless someone is desparate for such a car NOW, it just seems unlikely to me that someone would pay almost MSRP for, in-effect, a year old vehicle. They could have made that deal 9 months ago. (BTW - I bought new S4 two months ago at $4000 under sticker, $900 over invoice).

a sedan i am guessing. clearly i would have sold one for $500 over, but when there is only 3-5 avants in the state, someone will step up.
