Previous gen V70R was not so much a sports car as the older 850Rs... too soft.
Remember, a $1000 chip in the Volvo and those numbers will drop SIGNIFICANTLY... with a turbo that large and such a strong block... theres lots of potential in that 5cyl. Very little in the V8.
This, I think will be the achilles heel of the B6.
Think if you could never chip your B5? How many people would still be driving them? In stock form, its no slouch, but... think if you could never upgrade? You'd be getting the crap kicked out of you on a regular basis. Whats stage 2/3 for the B6? Headers? Please.
Think of the speed you could buy for 10k in the Volvo...
