The car weighs something like 300 lbs more than the sedan mostly because of the reinforcements Audi added. Its very solid.
FYI - Cowl shake is the amount of flex you feel in the car going over bumps, etc. Its commonly discussed relative to converitbles and the structural integrity issues related to not having a solid roof.

That car is a notch better looking than the Pontiac Aztek. That design will not age well.
Chicago. . . Snow. . .Quattro. . . The decision is easy, S4.

Sedan versus a two seat convertible -- you're situation should make the decision more obvious
Second, the S4 is my first German. There's a big difference between Japan and German. When driving a Japan, you drive comfortably around 60-75; when drive a German at 75, it's still sleeping...begging to go...go...go
Third, the S4 is definitely faster. I went red light to red light with a nice white SC and consistently pulled on him.

You said down below you'll probably put on 120K over your 15 years of ownership. That's pretty low mileage and if you maintain either car well, they SHOULD reach 120K without any major problems.
If you were going 150K-200K on your car, I'd say go with the Lexus. In general, I think most cars manufactured today should be able to go over 100K without major headaches. But anything over 150K will probably require more maintenance.
This is my first Audi and I have 12,700 on the odometer. No reliability problems whatsoever. My brother has an '01.4 S4 with 49K on it with no major problems either. Minor things here and there, no engine trouble.
My old car was an Acura Integra which I tried to drive to the ground, but couldn't. 110K in 8 years and still running great.
