SD card reads empty...

but there are different types and mine don't say anything about SDHC. One is the Transcend brand, the others are generic. Also, if I put too many songs on them the first 512 still show up and play fine, only the songs over the limit are invisible.

I pulled the card out and it has the SDHC logo, guess I'll be going back too two 2gb cards, 4gb total is plenty.
I only picked the 4gb cards up because they were cheap, so I'll find another use for them.
I'm still going to try putting only one CD on a card and see what happens, I just became sidetracked last night.

I buy a fair amount of stuff on newegg.com and it looks like you can get 2gb cards for $13.49 after a rebate ($5).
