SD Card Slot Questions...
1) does it matter which SD speed you use (ie, basic SD vs. Extreme III)?
2) how much info is displayed by the Nav+? Does it show full ID3 tag metadata, or just Artist, Album and Song Title?
4) is there some limit to physical card size used, or otherwise limited by number of folders or actual tracks per card slot?
TIA Gurus!

Some had problems with MLC SD cards
The cheaper/slower cards are sometimes MLC SD cards for cameras that aren't that picky about read/write errors. The RNS-E is and SLC SD cards seem to be the better choice. It's not always necessary to use high speed cards, I have both a 512MB SanDisk and a 2GB SanDisk Ultra and they are both fine. The 4GB are only usefull if you have fewer but larger songs. And those 4GB are sometimes to much for older card readers. My 4GB Transcent 150x didn't work in my cheap USB reader but works fine in the ThinkPad X40 I have. Older card reader could also cause problems and the RNS-E won't read card written in there properly. Sometimes a new card reader solves the issues even with SLC cards that didn't work in the RNS-E on the first try.

Re: thanks. so you could actually use the 4GB capacity if you compress at high bit rates...
I'd say that anything above 192kbit/s is pretty much wasted because of tire and wind noise etc. I can't hear any difference between 192 kbit/s and 320 kbit/s when driving. There's just too much backround noise 99% of the time. And the speaker system isn't really that good anyway.
I would get a couple of 1 gig cards instead of 2 or 4 gig cards because of the file limitations on the RNS-E software. Card speed doesn't matter much in my experience. Fast cards are useful if you have a compatible digicamera.
