Dunno... but I don't think I could talk myself into paying 40 for an A4...

Yet, I still ordered an S4.

Worth 10k more? Maybe not, but it's only $10k.

A4's cost $39k in 2001? Somehow I don't think so...

My S4 was like $43.1k, no phone, no nav (sticker).

He's exactly right. My 2.8 with every option, had a MSRP of $39k...

...my sales guy could have easily bumped me to the S4, and I'm kind of pissed that he didnt.

Good comparison. An A4 3.0 is more in the league of a BMW 330xi...

My 2000 S4's MSRP was $39.6k including destination charge...

...only option was convenience package. Many of the other options available on the A4's were standard on the S4.

Hey Jim...

Like I told you...I have never been in any accidents before or after...well, just one when I was 17 years old...coming out of a parking lot onto a main drag...in busy Santa Barbara..in my Triumph TR6 convertible...but that doesn't count...talk about congested...I saw the cars coming from the left..and from the right..I just didn't see the lady in front of me coming out of another parking lot and turning in front of me. BTW, SHE hit me..not the other way around.

Even since I am racing now..I have never hit any other miatas..even in practice/qualify/race.

Yeah, it made me pretty ill once I realized the delta was so small...

...definitely one instance where having a "zero pressure" sales guy can backfire.

I'm in the process of ordering a A4 3.0 cvt ultrasport right now and it will wind up costing $37k. I'd love to have an S4, but I cant justify the extra $10-14K right now.
