So me and the wife went to the local grocery store..figures shopping carts all over the overcrowded lot. I start to collect all the shopping carts around a 25 perimeter around the only open space. My wife swears I love my car more

Default I do the same thing, my girlfriend really thinks I'm crazy when....

I start writing down the licence plates of the cars next to me if I have no other choice but to park next to another car.

Default Its a must in Germany, cousin keeps a little black book

only a picture of the cars is missing. His is a 1990Urq S4. Shopping carts are no problem as you need to insert a 1euro coin to unlock a cart and to get your money back have to return it were you got it.

Default Hey-- that isn't funny!

My GF gets a little... uh... upset(?) every so often since I spend more time with my car than with her. That includes driving, washing, talking about it, spending time on AW, etc.

After a little while, she's quick to realize that she's being a bit silly, and gets over it, but usually not until after she's made a couple cracks about how much I neglect her...

Default Wife now nods in approval when I do this...

After some guy pushed a cart toward her Jeep GC while she was waiting to pull out of parking stall (with another car idling right behind her). She screamed -- scaring the @!#$ out of my daughter. Wham! Cart slides right into the passenger door. @$$ #@!& disappears. My wife almost stepped on the gas instead of screaming. That would have been much worse (certainly for the car she would have T-boned behind her). Thankfully, the GC has giant plastic guard rails all the way around apparently designed for extracurricular parking lot maneuvers.

Default Re: shopping

I found a solution...Let my wife drive the car once and she now understands why we are the way we are.

Default Re: shopping

Last year I came out of an Office Depot to find a cart rolled up against our Coupe Quattro (sold when we bought the S4). I confronted the only person in the lot at the time, a woman, who said it wasn't hers. I went into the store to report this just to get it off my chest. I was plesantly surprised when the manager immediately made arrangements to repair the minor damage--$250 bucks worth. Nice!
