Default Shopping for B6 S4 - Alcantara or no?

Hey guys, I'm totally new to the forum but I did search and came up empty. If this is a beaten subject, my apologies.

I'm shopping for a B6 S4 , I LOVE the look of the enhanced interior. The two tone alcantara seats are awesome. My concern lies in the grumblings I've heard about stains, difficulty to clean, and pilling.

Now, I'm a clean guy. I'll commute in this car and that's about it. I won't be getting in and out in ditry clothes, etc. Also, if there's some recommended maintenance to keep the seats clean, I'll do it religiously.

All that said, it will drive me nuts if these seats start showing wear. Can some of you with experience please chime in and help the new guy out?

Thanks!

Default What I'd recommend...

stick w/ solid color as opposed to alcantara. When I was shopping for mine, there was a nogargo blue S4 w/ blue alcantara seats and after reading several posts about the little fuzzies, stains, etc and how you can use various cleaning products or maybe even the magic sponge thingy to remove them...I felt a bit skeptical. I ended up purchasing the light gray interior and I love it. Personally, I think it looks much cleaner than alcantara but thats my opinion. Plus, I didn't want to worry about fading or discoloring. It really depends if you want to spend X amount on something you like as opposed to something thats more practical? Hope that makes sense.

I can't imagine anyone with them would say they regret having them. It was never even a ? for me.

Default Stay with the solid color leather if it's a concern.

I would not get the Alcantara seats as when I was shopping for my S4 I viewed several and they all showed more age than the solid colored leather seats.

However, if you do get the alcantara inserts, they can be replaced for a reasonable price.

Default I have the silver/light alcantara and love it...

I actually wanted the solid black leather, but got the black with silver alcantara due to sales rep mistake. I am very happy he made the mistake. First, I think it looks great. It does not get as hot in the summer or as cold in the winter as full leather seats. I was worried about wear... some people were saying that the alcantara developed a shiny appearance after a while which is why I did not want it initially, but I have not really noticed that after 30K miles of driving. About 50% of my driving is done alone and the driver's seat and passenger's seat looks exactly the same. You cannot go wrong either way. Although (IMO) the blue Alcantara looks terrible.

Default Alcantara for sure. I'm loving the two-tone seats. Extremely comfy.

Full leather is a big skip in my book.

Default I've had 3 S4's, all w/ the silver enhanced interior, and I love it...

I wouldn't even consider buying one without it. It's actually very easy to keep clean and doesn't really stain at all. I spilled coffee on my seat once and it wiped right up w/ a damp cloth. In my opinion, you can't beat the look of this interior.

What are you looking for in an S4? I'm considering selling mine and there's always a few guys on here selling their cars.
