Front to back and back to front as long as they're the same size

Default the dealer said he rotated my tires (for the 5k service)

but the fronts are definitely still in the front. they're much dirtier than the rears, since i haven't washed the car in weeks.

Default Yes. For the OEM Continental SportContact 2 tires, there is no rotational direction to the tread.

I have moved mine pretty much all around the car to date depending on wear factors and upcoming track abuse cycles. I always like the tire with the most shoulder left to be the one on the front wheel that will be dominant for a given track. As an example, Portland's track is a clockwise lap so the driver's front tire will take the biggest hit. I will move the tire with the least shoulder tread to the passenger rear where the stress will be the least.

Tires like S03's do not allow for this because the tread is directional and the tire must be only rotated from front to rear unless you have the tires remounted on the rims.

Default When you can't watch them, mark the tires.

I had mine rotated today for the 5K service and before I went in I marked the tires with a white crayon to allow me to confirm they were rotated right afterward. They did good.
