think of HOW many track events you'd have to go through (which would be nice eh?) to justify that if your only true concern was "performance" vs. looks.
me I do about 6 HDPE's a year and that is like 1 set of rotors per year. (doubt it's even that, but let's say for $$$ sakes).
So it's 2500 for a BBK OR....
800 for a set of XDR rotors....
or.... 4 sets of OEM @ 150 per side x 4 = 600 and maybe one set of XP8's the ROI (sorry i'm at work you know..) completely favors the OEM version if you don't "need v/s want" the BBK bling factor...
but isn't that what gets most of us... it's oem for me!

At one of the driving schools, my instructor had an A4, and he commented on how he was a little scared by how late I was able to start braking. I really didn't think much of it until I had an A4 loaner and oh my god, the brakes were horrible! It's easy to forget how good this car is until you spend some time behind the wheel of something else...
I've also had no noticable fade, and just a little bit of pedal vibration as things got hot. I've completely flushed the brake fluid once and bled it a couple of times during the season...

Street wise, they are perfect the way they are, except for the brake dust.
However, I melted my pads at VIR. So I need something that has a higher temp tolerance. The pads were so hot they were applying deposits to the rotors, and that took about a month to scrub off.
On the street, the OEM setup is king. On the track, the OEM setup with new pads are still king! ;-)
But, if I'm changing the pads, I figure I might as well put a new set of hardened rotors on there just for SAG.
