Default So it appears there really is a 2004.5 ....

besides having updates for the frist TSB's mainly the tranmission selector bearings. The 2004.5 car has a completly different suspension, springs and shocks. They also have a much different clutch. They also dont have the exhaust flap. So what else did the rest of us who bought the car in the begining not get. It was very apperent on the fun run that the newer suspension was much more capable then my cars. Times when I felt like I was gonna roll out of a turn the 2004.5 in front of me was doing fine. Since Josh (who was in front of me) has had both a 2004 and now a 2004.5 he said the difference is increadable. Anyone else out there noticed this?

Really? When was the switch? A rough date or a VIN range?

Default Looks like maybe the GM deal is finally over...

IIRC For a while there Audi had to use a specific number of GM sourced parts in their cars. Had something to do w/high level political BS (stealing an exec?).

I think the red shocks are Delco GM , I know they were on our old A4, at least...

Just a shot in the dark. Yellow shocks = good, IMO (probably Bilstein?)

Default Interesting, does this apply to S4 Cab's or . . .

since the Cab came out mid-year are they all 2004.5's?

My Cab is an April build (June delivery). I looked at the rear shocks: the bottom cylinder is red (attached to axel) but the top (above black sleeve) is yellow (looks like a wrapped coil). So what am I looking at?

Thanks.

Default The amount of roll in a turn is determined by the springs - not the shocks.

See any differences of note on the springs?
