so I am approaching 10K miles and the on-board computer now says "service in 800 miles"...

well, service intervals are every 10K miles starting at 5K miles, so it would make sense
that the message would pop-up approaching 15K, so I think something is not right...

I have the same thing. Dealer didn't reset the program corectly at your 5K service.
Take it back to the dealer to reset. They shouldn't even make you wait if you tell them you are coming.

I also have this message. Does anyone NOT have the 10K message???? Although the dealer only covers
the 15K service, it is still recommended to service at 10K... So I still think it's correct as it's an indicator of your car needing service and not an indicator of your car's next FREE service!

HIJACK! Days till service
Also had a service indicator question: sorry for the thread hijack.
Anyway: I'm at 3900 miles roughly on my '04 Dolphin.
The service indicate says 1100 miles until service (which is expected for the first 5K interval). But then it says 280 days...????
WTF?
