6 hours into a 7 hour drive, I get pulled over for going 104 in a 60... I'm thinking, $500 fine (wow, a lot, but I can leave with it)
Get this..
6 points - which shouldn't tranfer to PA
$2,500 fine
1 year in jail
I MUST appear in court here on some thursday in September..... Never been here before and certainly never wanted to come back. This cop was a complete *** and you'd swear I just led them on a hig speed chase and killed people. They said anything over 80 they can take your license, impound the car and take you right to jail.
.... help me?

for speeding? I think your chances of getting that reduced are pretty good.

VA state troopers = AWFUL!
When I was in school (1995), I was pulled over on I-64 going 102 in a 65mph zone between Charlottesville and Richmond, and when I showed up for court in Goochland County, they stuck me with a $2000 fine, suspended license for 60 days, 6 points (reckless driving in VA) and 30 days in jail, 28 days suspended. I thought, FOR SPEEDING?!?! Then they actually CUFFED me and led me away to a holding area, where I was allowed to appeal the sentence.
The court was filled BTW with poor saps like me who were busted speeding on the highway - I guess its the only way they make money there..
Well, when I came back (this time with a real lawyer), they ended up making me pay a $500 fine, slapped the 6 pnts on me, suspended my license for 30 days, and suspended the 30 days for all 30 days if I volunteered to do 25 hours of community service.
So I ended up paying the $500 and delivering phone books around the county offices and shoveling snow in their parking lots for 4 days!!
My advice is if you do plan on going back to court, HIRE A LAWYER! The court judges there are VERY UNFORGIVING for speeding over 90mph.
Otherwise, just dont drive in VA again - my buddy was busted for a similar speeding event, didn't go back to court, and nothing has happened to him since - but he hasn't driven in VA in almost 10 years.
Hope this helps,
Kevin

If you know any policeman or Magistrate, they might be able to get the info. Lawers might be able to find out. Usually if the borders of the states do not touch you're OK. But there could be exceptions.
