...people had experience with this? i've been reading that mailed photo radar tickets aren't served properly (no agent of court, no certified mail, etc). also no proof that anyone ever saw ticket, and no valid person even named on the ticket.
how can they expect anyone to pay these when the court doesn't even know who's driving?

Wow! They really got a close up shot of her ;)
I've heard of many others that simply did nothing, however I have no personal experience with it.
Just curious, was it the new 101 traps?

but it has just the company name on it. no person's name. no idea who it is, and no proof...
...that it was ever received by anyone. even went to old office address, which had a shared mail box with another biz.
i really think they count on people just turning themselves, or other, in.

good answers...
"a friend of mine" simply threw his away and got away with it
Basically after a set time a certain percentage of offenders get served by the court. An even fewer amount of those technically served are actually successfully carried out. [although there are reports on the internet that some are illegally served- the server leaves the envelope at a door and it is his word against yours] If not successfully served the case is dropped.
An attorney named Jeffrey Tonner (who represents Dentists primarily) set a precedent in AZ law that the initial letter does not carry any weight unless served. [I am paraphrasing to a great degree, look up all of this to confirm]

To find out if you have been served use this link:

For further information there is another attorney who speciallizes in this and published a book that is available at the Scottsdale library (but not the phoenix library). Her name is Susan Kayler, and her book is "Smile for the Speed Camera! Photo Radar Exposed!" Use author name keyword when searching at the scottsdale library for best results:

Her website, complete with forum is:

To truely figure out where you stand risk vs reward-wise, call your insurance company and present the hypothetical question of what would happen to your rates if you paid the fine and accepted three points on your licence.
Good luck Barry<ul><li><a href="http://www.photoradarlaw.com/">http://www.photoradarlaw.com/</a</li></ul>
