So, there you are cruising at 75-80 MPH in 6th gear, and WHAM!!!

A boy racer Honda Civic (Ford Sierra in this case) that you passed about 2 mins ago comes screaming up on you. He then switches to the passing lane quickly to go around.
What gear do you prefer to drop into at around 75-80 for hard acceleration? The first time this happened today I dropped into 5th and the car responded, but took me a bit to catch up to the Sierra. The second time this tool tried to do a fly by on me I dropped into 4th. 4th seemed a bit high in the RPM band, I think it was near 4500-5000 but I took off like a bat out of hell. I will probably use 4th gear below 80 MPH and 5th gear above 80 MPH for spanking the young ones on the highway.
What gear do you guys/gals use when school is in session on the highway?

But as for my advice on figuring out which gear to use, read the next top level thread on the "evolution of shifting."

4th gear and a large portion of the loud pedal.
However...there are still some 500bhp Sierra Cosworths about in the UK and they are now very cheap so are used and abused by the school boys. The good thing is they are the opposite of the S4 i.e. with the huge spoiler you can't mistake them.
