I would like to say, that while reading this board i have noticed that many people think that young drivers are irresponsible and do not deserve to drive an expensive and fast car. i belive that this is un-true... maybe we are to young to be driving a $50,000 car, but that should not be the debate. most kids who have cars such as M3's, S4's and the base models, appreciate them enough to drive safly and responsibly. i worry more about the show off kids in there 400hp mustangs and Z28's, with a lot of torque and rear wheel drive...yes i know i said M3 and that too has rear wheel drive, but they have to appreciate a drivers car to own one. i do not mean to offend anyone.. just my opinion... and yes i am a young S4 driver. 20

My parents definetely tell me that I am a very careful and responsible driver. They say I actually go too overboard. My dad insists I drive faster on highways, my mom says I don't corner hard enough. Yes this is true!
When I first started driving many years ago, my driving instructor told me.
"Us adults can drive like some of the young crazy kids who weave in and out of traffic, turn at high speeds, drive insanely fast. The reason we don't do it is because we realize its unsafe for the driver and anyone near the vehicle. Also, the streets are not the proper place to showcase unsafe driving habits."
After hearing that on my first driving experience, I took it to heart and have become a very responsible and safe driver. Over the past 6 years, I have had no speeding ticket, no careless/reckless, no accidents - not even a fender bender.
I have learned to appreciate this car very much and to treat it with respect. With great power (340hp+) comes great responsibility. I have learned an invaluable lesson early in life. Thank you S4.
btw, I agree with b6v8driver. I had two friends with STi's, they totalled their car within the first week they got it. One kid even totalled his next car. Some of my other friends, claim they can be reckless with their car because it's not worth too much and it's fun to drive at insane speeds.
ON the other hand, I have couple friends with a M3, g35 coupe and a porsche cayenne. Got to be alot more responsible. IN terms of driving and in approaching life...yup, just few examples. I'm sure there are alot of exceptions.

self control, immaturity, and showing off in an uncontrolled environment. You can kill just as many people in a 78 bug as you can an S4.

not everyone who is 20 has your perceived level of maturity and impulse control. not everyone who is 40 is as mature as you'd think, either. but statistically, you have to recognize that MOST 20 year olds are not as mature as 40 year olds. and this translates to one's experiences on the road with other drivers. why do you think insurance companies charge you more than me (i am 31) for any given model?
