sport mode on tiptronic is so much faster than d, anyone know the gas mileage?

You should not be scared to use Sport Mode
It is not "hard" on the drive line. The programming on the throttle makes the step in more aggressive. I cannot see it doing damage to the transmission. I drive in sport mode a lot, but my company pays for my gas too...

I use D mode around town, and S mode on the road. I prefer the D mode in stop and go traffic, when I have to slow down alot. The shifts are alot smoother. On the open road, it's either S mode or Tip mode for passing and generally having a good time.

I get 12.8mpg in s mode on my s6 in the city. I love it and could care less aboutpoor fuel economy. I only use 10K miles per year....
