I have had from the beginning what sounded to me like the cam chain tensioner noise described in quite a few posts, however lately it seems to be getting louder and leaning more towards a knocking sound. Its not on every start, but it can occur either hot or cold. Any suggestions? I have had it to the dealer before but they said its "performing per audi spec.. blahblah". I have two months of warranty left, so I need to get it in there asap - how do I convince them its an issue if they don't hear it?

I was in the same situation about 2 weeks ago my warranty is up in may and my car was making a rubbing noise when i made turns so i took it in and they told me the same thing. So i kept taking it in, it took about 4 times and they finaly got tierd of me so they really looked into it and it needs a new differential. you can use that methode or call an audi advocate.
