Strange Right Mirror Behavior

I wonder if anyone else has seen this behavior:
With the mirror control in the "R" mode, put the car in reverse. The right mirror dips down as it should, but the motor continues to run even after the mirror hits the lower travel limit. I was miffed, since the car did this about four or five times in a row, right when I started it.
I then realized how I managed to do this. I reprogrammed my seat/mirror memory the other day. I did it with the car running, in reverse, mirror control in "R" position, with the mirror dipped. I can't explain why the motor continues to run after hitting the lower limit of travel, but obviously, programming the seat memory while in reverse should be avoided....
