The APR unit is expected in early July.
The VF-Engineering piece is expected later in July. (To be sold by AWE?)
The PES Tuning unit is expected late July also.
For those contemplating this purchase, do you have a preference due to manufacturer? And if so, why?

I am not sure about the difference between the APR and PES, but the VF/AWE system uses a Vortech centrifugal blower, vs a totally new "roots" type sytem and intake.
The APR unit will have a liquid-air charge cooler integrated into the unit casting itself right their on the intake, very cool. I am very intrigued with the Vortech idea though. It is basically a belt driven turbocharger, compact, tunable, but still will need a charge cooler with our 11:1 compression ratios.
That was my biggest worry, high compression engine and "BOOM" potential with boost and detonation, but the Honda S2000 is commonly supercharged and it is 11.25:1
There will need to be some dyno numbers and real world test to see who comes out on top and most affordable...
Todd
p.s. I know VF is NOT making their own kit for the S4, it must be from AWE...

http://www.vf-engineering.com/</a

on the differences between each brand of SC and see where the pricing is, too (I know APR is $8K already).

I considered that for my 98 A4 and I recall reading about exploding engines in the years after that. Anybody else recall that or am I just showing the initial signs of dementia?

I've always thought that the roots type system was gonna be extremely difficult on this engine. I'm VERY interested in the centrifugal application for this car.
