Anyone have any problems where the link connecting the sway bar (in my case the rear H-Sport sway) has failed? The mechanic at the dealer (whom I trust) said the heavier-duty sway is too much for the factory links, and is causing them to twist and fail. You can see from the pic (taken at driver's rear) that the bolt has sheared; don't really know yet the complete condition of the link since the dealer, once seeing the aftermarket bar, wouldn't do anything more, and it was off the rack by the time I got there.
The front bushings seem Ok, but the mechanic said those were failing as well, and it does appear that the link itself might be starting to twist.
So...has anyone had a problem with our stiffer sways causing upstream problems?
TIA

Their product should have been designed to work within the factory mount specs. They should see that photo. Make sure you know exactly and specifically what failed there.

the bolt just sheared, or had the nut come loose THEN sheared, I have no way of telling (at least now). Hoping to get to a shop later today.

I know a bunch of people switched to different bolts instead of using loctite (or in addition to). Might want to ping Wes about this since I know this happend to him (or something similar)

will be interesting to see it in the air, and get a knowledgable opinion as to why this happened.
And as Cellomax suggested, I've shot off an email and pic to H-Sport for their take on this.

stress on the bolt.
I've see this before on a few cars. Usually the thread coming from the sway link was corroded or whatnot . . . . overtorquing will do it too.
