Using standard phone cable to wire my Escort 8500 X50 to the fuse box. Wired 12v power lead to left post of the sunroof fuse and the ground to fuse box bolt. Powers on no problem but it does not turn off when the car is turned shut down. I've tried multiple fuse locations ie. lighter, footwell lights, etc. All of witch should be switched. So I must be doing something wrong. This method is what I've read others are doing...wth

Wire it to the switched 12V post under the driver's side dash. That's what I've done to all my electrical add-ons. Sounds very much like you're getting unswitched 12V.

off. Accessories stay live until you open the door. This might be the solution.
Good luck.

for them. However, any good graphics shop should be able to reproduce them. If you want, I'll take a close-up pic and measure them.

fuse and replace it with the adapter. I think I used fuse #31 in this car.
