1. rip your files to MP3, not M4A; 2. get a DICE interface and you can use your ipod/phone

I've never had an issue with the antenna mounted behind the dash. KISS>

Default Stock antenna is pretty simple actually

But some people may not feel comfortable with their skills in pulling bits off the car and running the cable. For me, this is my 5th VAG car and there isn't really anything I won't tackle.

Agree entirely. Interference can happen if wires jumbled.

Default That seems to work for a lot of people. I haven't had as much luck.

I have the antenna mounted behind the dash. I generally get about 5 satellites during the day, but when I turn on my headlights I don't get any satellites. A very odd problem indeed but I'm tired of dealing with it so I plan on just hooking up the sharkfin. Oh well.

Default It's easy - search for my prior write-up on how to do this.

Happy to help you out over the phone as well. You do get better reception - esp in areas where reception is marginal for other reasons (canyons, urban settings, etc)

Default It is easy......

1. There is nothing "easy" about running the FAKRA cable from rear luggage compartment up to the front. The cable does not just "slip" behind the trim in 10 minutes, certainly not on an Avant from the left side.

I helped a friend do this, it took a loooooonnnggg time and much of the trim from left rear luggage compartment (and the rear seat back, etc.) up to the front and below/around the steering wheel had to be removed. If you aren't careful, you can break or bend the clips, resulting in improper fit on reinstall.

This is really not that hard. Give me a call. 1 hour is max time to get it done.
