Default Yeah the TT has the same issues because the wheel extends out wider than the tires do...

which is true for a lot of Audi wheels.

Default Point well taken. Can a decrease in compliance affect a tire's integrity in rocky/potholed

road conditions though?

Default Yes, but usually that's simply a function of sidewall height which will affect that...

...rigidity, which would be the opposite of compliance, also usually resists damage from potholes as well. The problem comes when you have low profile tires with soft sidewalls.

Try hand washing in Minnesota with below zero temperatures.

Default guys...UNDERINFLATION causes this.

i had this happen with a P6000 on my completely stock B5 S4 a while back. it occurred to me that the one that blew out was the one that always lost a couple pounds between checking. i had gone too long without checking tire pressures...thus underinflation...thus tread separation.

Default It's kind of hard to tell if it was really underinflated after it has blown out too...

...and you could probably be 15-20 lbs. too low on pressure and not even be able to visibly see it with a 40-profile tire.
