Default Tire Diameter?'s

Yet another question on tires, I am doing a staggered setup with 8.5 front and 9.5 rear, is it crucial with quattro to have the same overall diameter? TIA

You should have the same rolling diameter on all 4 wheels within 4/32" I believe.

Default Damn the tires I want are within 3/10ths of an inch...

Fronts would be 245/35/19 @ 25.9 inches and rear would be 255/35/19 @ 26.2 inches. Otherwise I would have to do 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 but I feel this leaves too much of a fenderwell gap and also I would like some more meat on my wheels if you know what I mean. Decisions...

Default I do know what you mean...

and Allan went with the 2nd option due to the rolling diameter issues. Could you run with the larger tires? Sure...but who knows how long before you'll have some type of differential damage.

good luck on the decision!

Looked at a 245/40 or 45 to get the diameter up to keep the 255/35 rear?

Default 245/40 for the front would be too large for the 255/35 rear.

Thinking of just 245/35/19 all around and simply stretching them in the rear??

275/35/19 and 245/40/19 are 2/10ths" apart, but will they fit front & rear?

Default 275/35 might be a squeeze for the rears 245/40 should be no problem on fronts

If I ever get the call that my centers are back from paint then I can answer all these questions for sure as I will have the rims by end of week. I wanted Falken tires like what I have on my RS6's but only Michelin PS2's have the 265/30/19 size needed for the 9.5" rears $150 more per side. Falken makes a 275/30/19 but we fear its to tight a fit and will not clear.
