Default Interesting article.

Just shows how incredibly varied the numbers can be when there are different drivers, different venues, temperatures, road surfaces, etc. Test numbers from magazine to magazine will vary greatly. Any article we read, we have to take it with a grain of salt because someone else's results may be much different. Case in point: The EVO ran a 14.0. Two tenths slower than the S4.....

I love my S4.

Default horsepower is calculated differently in europe

the e46 euro M3 engine is the same as the US one; the 10hp difference is partly due to DIN hp vs. SAE hp, and partly due to changes in the cat.

600 pounds is a pretty significant weight difference. 4056 vs. 4654.

Default i work for mercedese benz... (long)

i have driven the new c55 and in every way shape and form it is a much more solid car then the c32 the power delivery is much more linear the engine pulls to the redline and the trasmission, all be it a slushbox, is rather responsive and very quick to shift. the steering is alot quicker then that on MB's "sports car" offerings such as the new slk, and just an all around great car respectivly. I have also had a chance to drive the cl65 for a short period of time. it is in no way a sports car or even a sporting car i mean its definitly exhilerating to to hear turbo whistle over a 12 cylinder orchastra but thats about all the car is good for. a small dip into the throttle sends tires spinning and clawing for dear life and then with a jerk the traction control comes on. but the car is heavy long and numb to the road and is basically an excuse for rich people to kill themselves.
the s4 is still in a league of its own.i dont think i can really compare it to the c55 its just too different a car. anyway just thought ide share that with you.

Default the jds4 nearly brings me to tears...

the overwhelming feeling of joy that comes from sitting in the passenger seat can only be surpassed by the individual piloting the seemingly warp speed vessel.

Default long and short, HP and weight are all that really matter in acceleration.

torque doesn't win races, like people say.

Default Oops, I was assuming they were similar

intervals like for the s4 (50-80 etc). I didn't read the whole thing due to the slow loading.

If that's the case, then either ferrari supplied a "special" version for the 612, or the benz has some issues. must be tranny or the engine just ain't working right. I can't imagine they'd gear it so bad that the car would fall out of boost between gears and not take full advantage of the HP.

Strange.

Ash
